Settlement Integrity Institute LLC ("SII," "the Institute," "we," or "us") respects the privacy of individuals and institutions that interact with our website and assessment programs. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

01

Overview

The Site is primarily informational. SII does not operate a user account system, does not sell products through this website, and does not deploy advertising technology or behavioral tracking. Our data practices are minimal by design and proportional to our institutional purpose.

The primary contexts in which SII receives information are: (a) voluntary inquiries submitted by prospective assessment candidates or researchers; and (b) information provided as part of the SII-TARS assessment process. These two contexts are governed by distinct practices described below.

02

What We Collect

SII collects information only through the following channels:

  • Direct correspondence. When you contact us via email at registry@settlementintegrity.org or through any inquiry form, we receive your name, email address, organizational affiliation, and the content of your message.
  • Assessment inquiries. When a prospective candidate submits an Assessment Inquiry Document, we receive the entity name, contact information, and program interest provided in that document.
  • Standard server logs. Our hosting infrastructure may automatically log basic access data such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and page visited. This data is used only for operational and security purposes and is not used to identify individuals or build behavioral profiles.

SII does not use cookies for tracking, does not deploy third-party analytics platforms, and does not collect payment information through this website.

03

How We Use Information

Information collected through the Site is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Responding to inquiries and communications
  • Evaluating and processing assessment applications
  • Communicating with current or prospective assessment candidates regarding the SII-TARS program
  • Operating, maintaining, and improving the security of the Site
  • Complying with applicable legal obligations

SII does not use information collected through the Site for marketing to third parties, does not sell or license personal information, and does not use personal information for automated decision-making.

04

Assessment Data

Information submitted as part of the SII-TARS assessment process is subject to separate confidentiality obligations set forth in the applicable assessment engagement terms. The following principles govern all assessment data:

  • Confidentiality. Proprietary, operational, and financial information submitted by a candidate entity is treated as strictly confidential and is not disclosed to third parties except as required by law.
  • Registry publication. If an entity achieves a Certified, Qualified, or Conditional verdict, the Institute may publish an entry in the SII Registry reflecting that status. Deferred and Declined verdicts are never published and are not reflected in the public record.
  • Analyst access. Assessment materials are reviewed only by SII analysts bound by confidentiality obligations. Materials are not shared outside the assessment team without consent.
  • Retention. Assessment records are retained for a period consistent with SII's operational and legal obligations. The specific retention schedule is set forth in the engagement terms.
05

Sharing of Information

SII does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. SII works with a limited number of trusted service providers (such as hosting and email infrastructure) who may process information on our behalf. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may not use information for any purpose other than providing services to SII.
  • Legal process. SII may disclose information when required to do so by law, court order, regulatory authority, or other legal process.
  • Protection of rights. SII may disclose information to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Institute, its personnel, or the public, where permitted by law.

In all other circumstances, information shared with SII remains confidential.

06

Retention

SII retains information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by applicable law. Correspondence and inquiry records are retained for a reasonable period following the conclusion of any related engagement. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes and are then deleted.

Upon written request, SII will delete personal information that is no longer necessary for an active or ongoing purpose, subject to legal retention obligations.

07

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights with respect to personal information we hold about you, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of that information. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below.

SII will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.

Where applicable, individuals in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

08

Security

SII implements reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures are proportional to the sensitivity of the information held.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While SII strives to protect information using commercially reasonable means, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09
